What did the client expect?
The project involved the development and implementation of an integrated supplier risk management system. Adamed was looking for a partner with extensive and documented experience in implementing such systems in large organizations operating across different regions of the world. PBSG was chosen because we presented the appropriate references and additionally offered support from a team of qualified consultants who have been working in the risk management field for years.
What did we do?
WE CONDUCTED AN ANALYSIS
The starting point for creating the supplier risk management model was a detailed audit. We analyzed the solutions applied in the organization, reviewed the documentation, and then developed an integrated supplier risk management system, taking into account the management structure, risk assessment methodology, and documentation projects.
WE TRAINED EMPLOYEES
Due to the fact that a key element in the supplier risk management process is the human factor, we conducted training for risk owners and designated employees from various departments of the organization. During the training, we clearly and understandably presented how the system works in practice, explained the basics of its operation, and highlighted the benefits of its implementation.
WE ORGANIZED WORKSHOPS
One of the most important stages of the project was the individual workshops on supplier risk identification and analysis, in which risk owners and appointed risk managers participated. During the workshops, we conducted a brainstorming session that resulted in, among other things, the development of a supplier risk register, the identification of unacceptable risks, as well as strategic and key risks.
WE SUMMARIZED THE WORK
Finally, we prepared a detailed summary report. It included, among other things, a description of the implemented supplier risk management system, the effects, and conclusions from the actions taken. The report also included recommendations for the future that could further improve the system and the organization’s operations. We presented the report’s findings during a presentation to the management.
What were the results?
The main goal of the project was to develop and implement an integrated supplier risk management system. To achieve this, close collaboration with the client’s employees during workshops was essential, as the knowledge and conclusions from these sessions served as the foundation for the system being implemented. A strong emphasis was placed on identifying risks – when developing the supplier risk register, we considered both the risks important to the organization and other significant threats that could affect various levels of management. We provided full support in identifying and initially assessing risks according to the area of responsibility of risk owners and the specified parameters.
Through cooperation with PBSG, the client built an efficient system that ensures the safety and reliability of deliveries. This allows them to avoid the materialization of risks through continuous verification and analysis. Moreover, they can introduce risk-mitigating measures at any time. Those responsible for risk in the organization were provided with a ready-to-use system for rapid data analysis and potential actions. Meanwhile, the management gained a valuable tool for controlling the risk levels in supplier relationships.
