What did the client expect?
The cooperation with Dot2Dot began in 2021. The company was looking for a reliable partner to guide them through the world of GDPR and prepare them for the requirements set by the Personal Data Protection Act. The priority was to train personnel responsible for personal data security so that they would not only navigate this area smoothly but also plan appropriate actions for the future. PBSG’s tasks also included developing the necessary documentation. Since then, we have provided regular support in the field of personal data protection.
The client was so satisfied with the progress and results of the entire project that in 2022-2023, they decided to take advantage of other PBSG services related to operational risk management, which included:
Project I – Development of an anti-corruption risk management methodology.
Project II – Implementation of a business risk analysis process, which resulted in the creation of a risk library and a threat library.
What did we do?
WE CONDUCTED AN AUDIT
We began the work by analyzing the solutions, documentation, and procedures used by the client. This allowed us to thoroughly understand the organization’s needs. Based on this, we were able to prepare a methodology proposal to improve the ERM system, which included workshops for risk owners, managers, and the board.
WE ESTABLISHED THE WORKSHOP PROGRAM AND GOAL
We prepared the schedule and plan for the risk management workshops. Our goal was not only to establish the management structure, define the risk assessment methodology, and set risk tolerance levels, but also to identify key areas. As a result, the workshops were intended to produce risk management procedures, as well as the concept and documentation for the operational and strategic risk management system.
WE CONDUCTED WORKSHOPS
The next stage involved individual workshops on risk identification and analysis with the risk owners and their appointed guardians. We also conducted workshops on developing plans for dealing with unacceptable risks. Additionally, we met with managers to emphasize the importance of raising awareness about the risks within their areas of responsibility.
WE PREPARED A REPORT
Finally, we prepared a summary report in which we presented an overview of the completed actions and further recommendations for improving the ERM system. We also met with the management to present the findings, as well as the documents developed during the process, such as risk maps and risk registers.
What were the results?
The project contributed to raising awareness and knowledge of risk management at both the operational and strategic levels. The workshops and discussions with managers and leadership helped us carefully prepare documentation that was, on one hand, aligned with the organization’s specific needs, and on the other, incorporated the necessary processes and procedures.
In the ERM documentation, we defined roles and responsibilities, communication methods, risk monitoring approaches, and risk assessment criteria. We assisted in simplifying and systematizing the process of aggregating, reporting, and assessing risk at the strategic level. Thanks to the workshops, employees involved in risk management were thoroughly and diligently prepared to identify and analyze risks within their areas.
The successful execution of these projects demonstrates that Dot2Dot holds PBSG’s experience in high regard. We previously collaborated on personal data security, preparing the organization for the requirements set by the GDPR.
