What did the client expect?
Polkomtel wanted to ensure that its BCM system was effective enough to guarantee the organization’s business functions and a quick recovery after a crisis or failure. For this reason, they were looking for an experienced partner to audit the business continuity management system at key locations. Among other consulting firms, PBSG stood out due to its flexible approach, comprehensive offering, and successful implementation of similar projects, which is why they chose us. Our task was to ensure that the system complied with the requirements regarding the security and integrity of telecommunication infrastructure and services, as well as ISO 22301. The audit was conducted on-site, and the outcome was a practical report.
What did we do?
WE REVIEWED THE DOCUMENTATION
In the first stage, we analyzed the documentation related to business continuity, including policies, procedures, and instructions. We also reviewed legal regulations affecting the client’s specific operations, as well as other documents relevant to business continuity management, such as those related to the organizational structure.
WE CONDUCTED THE AUDIT
The second stage involved the audit, during which we reviewed the BCM system across the entire capital group in terms of ISO 22301 standards. We conducted a detailed analysis of policies, procedures, and records within BCM, as well as processes in relation to the implemented documentation and ISO requirements. We analyzed business continuity plans and reports from conducted tests. We also met with designated employees.
What were the results?
The client received a clear report in which we summarized the progress of the work and assessed the degree of compliance with ISO 22301 standards in relation to the BCM system, which was of utmost importance to Polkomtel. Our consultants conducted the audit on-site at the client’s premises, thoroughly analyzing policies and procedures, and meeting with designated employees without disrupting their daily tasks. This allowed for a detailed assessment of the current state and level of the BCM system within the organization, which is crucial for maintaining its business continuity.
